The Best and The Worst of New York (Twin) C-ty

Filed under: PolenBabble, Kvetch! Kvetch! Kvetch! — Twin C @ 1:50 pm

Wednesday night: after seeing a fantastic Rejection Show at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade theater, featuring Ophira Eisenberg and David Rees, I meet my favorite sexplorer at a gentlemen’s club where a holiday party for a magazine she writes for is being held.  Free Grey Goose and tonics and mostly nekkid ladies abound.  I also meet various people in the sex industry and the entertainment industry, including Lainie Speiser and some guy who used to be on Howard Stern.  We leave the club when the party ends as it’s too loud to talk, and head to another bar and drink and talk and laugh for hours.  I head home to go to sleep with PSB, who was at a Moth holiday party.

Thursday morning: I’m not hung over, but I might as well be.  Our tub refuses to drain.  And, there’s no hot water.

Thursday night: Our techie shows up for our show late - 20 minutes late.  Fortunately, it’s easy enough to switch the order of the plays around, so we go on third instead of second.  However, everyone is panicked for a good half hour.  Hopefully the Thursday curse on this play is now broken.

Later Thursday night: I have to get up at 6:20 a.m. Friday morning in order to get to work by 7:30 to run a web conference.  I have valerian tea, but was nervous that it wasn’t going to be enough to get me to conk out before midnight.  Jon L. comes to the rescue, and gives me a melatonin pill.  Melatonin + valerian = UNCONCIOUS!  Awesome.

Now: The web conference was four hours long, but went fine.  I have more work to do, but I can’t seem to concentrate on anything - I’m still pretty tired.  I’m also on my second large pumpkin spice latte of the day, but it’s not doing much.  And it seems a little unfair that I got here at 7:30 and according to company policy, the earliest I can leave is 4:00 p.m.  Oh well.  Enough time for a disco nap before my 9:00 show and then a holiday party. . .
