As they would say in the UK, That’s pants! Evidently the truth is for pissing on too, for Mr. McLaren.
Toff is mildly derogatory slang for an upper-class/aristocratic person; not something you’d usually call an American, and certainly not something you’d call the Moth.

Those comments from the audience members in Edinburgh were harsh. They really hated the Moth, sounds like. Guess you can’t please everyone.
