Look at the tower he’s on! Cool!
Well, it looks like the white outs have stopped.

via BoingBoing. All about Billy Mitchell. It’s fantastic.
Hooray! She found some time to write:
I am in Center Camp, writing from Twin A’s laptop. We rocked setup — was very easy. We’ve had whiteouts for two days, but it seems to be clearing up now thank god — so dusty! It’s quiet today. Feels like no one is really here yet, which I love. I love the quiet at the beginning. Twin A says he wishes you were here. Me too, though we both know you’d hate it.
Whiteouts for two days????? I wouldn’t be hating it. I’d be in a car back to Reno.
This is the Polenblog’s 1000th post.
Hooray for kvetching! Hooray for other stuff!
I wonder how many of them have been mine? 998?
I promise I will get some Turkey pictures online soon. I’m thinking of splitting them in half and getting the first half up today, like when I get home after early Friday and a haircut.
In the meantime, have a great weekend!
UPDATE: As promised! http://picasaweb.google.com/twinc723/Turkey2008Part1 They’re not all commented upon, but at least they’re up. I did the editing - PSB had nothing to do with it. She may have some edits when she gets back from the Burn.
Saturday night I’m going to see Desir at the Spiegeltent with some friends - I think we are then going for sushi.
Before that, I am going to THIS, which I’ve wanted to see for a really long time. (I’m currently going alone - anyone want to meet me there?)
It’s going to be quite the lowbrow/highbrow kind of day. . .
Two of my friends are running off to City Hall (UPDATE: a week from) today to get married!
Congratulations!!!
I’m not sure if it’s public knowledge though, so I’m not going to out them. If they like, they can comment.
This weekend was fairly lazy - on Saturday I was in one of those moods where I did not know what I wanted to do, so I decided to play the game PSB bought for me for my birthday - Outlaw Golf 2 on XBox. (No, I’m not ready for next gen yet, and besides, I don’t have any room anywhere for Rock Band.) I am a sucker for golf games, as Big Mike will attest to when I played both the original Outlaw Golf and Tiger Woods Golf for hours and hours and hours. Way back in the day, Sneeker and Twin A and I used to play PGA Tour on the Genesis. It’s really strange because I don’t play golf in real life - I tried to drive once a long time ago and was quite unsuccessful, but it was still pretty fun. The whole waking up super early just to get on the course idea isn’t very appealing. . . anyway, there’s a huge difference between the Tiger Woods series and Outlaw Golf, in that Tiger Woods takes itself pretty seriously as a golf simulator (this doesn’t change the fact that in the character creation system, you can make yourself a girl, give yourself huge boobs, and name yourself Slooty, not that I would EVER do that, really) but Outlaw Golf - not so much. For example, when you’re doing poorly, you lose composure, and to gain it back, you play a minigame where you beat the crap out of your caddy. There’s also the fact that all the characters you can play are obnoxious, and either ridiculously costumed, or scantily clad.
Outlaw Golf 2 follows suit, of course. So when I turned on the game and the intro started, PSB stared at it with horror and said “Why are there slutskanks in your golf game?” She didn’t research what she bought me - she just picked a game off my Amazon wish list. I told her “There’s a bunch of skanks in this game, honey, it’s ‘Outlaw Golf’.” She shook her head and left the room, and left me to my video golf skank devices. (The game is fun, but it’s hard to get started - you have to play all the characters, and they all have poor skills and crappy clubs. Once you beat a few rounds, you can start to upgrade and it gets easier. Dave Attell is the announcer in this one, and it’s fun listening to him.)
I also started working on the Turkey pictures - they will be online soon. PSB and I also made it to a friend’s graduation party, and saw a bunch of our other friends - soon a number of them will be heading to the playa. . .
