Fact or (conspiracy) theory?

This is a fine case as to why Spitzer got taken down so quickly and publicly - via Crooks and Liars:

And just in case you were worried about poor Kristen, I wouldn’t bother.  She’s making out like a bandit:

Twin A was having some internet issues, but they are solved.

The new apartment is still filled with stuff, and stuff in boxes.  The “short” list of kvetches about the move, which for the most part went very well:

1.  My computer died somewhere between apartments.  I don’t blame the movers.  It was already on its last legs.  Twins A and D both had helpful advice for me to try and get it to reanimate, but alas, it is gone.  A new computer has already been purchased (I found a big coupon for a new Dell).

2.  The move took longer and was more expensive than the original quote.  But in actuality, it cost as much as I thought it was going to cost.  So I guess it’s not really anything to kvetch about.

3.  My watch battery conked out at some point over the weekend, leading me to believe that I had a lot more time to keep unpacking, before realizing something was wrong.

4.  There are two closets built into the walls, one for me and one for PSB.  When I started to hang things in my closet, I made a very interesting discovery - the closet is too narrow to actually hang anything in it.  It sticks out at a weird angle and makes it impossible to close the doors.  I’ve had to slant everything in there, as well as hang the rest of my clothes on the outside of the closet.

5.  Our landlord, who is awesome, like to go to bed early.  This is not a good thing when someone blows a fuse at 10:15 p.m. and you can’t get in touch with him and have to spend the rest of the night in the dark with no room to move anywhere.  At least I had found the flashlight already.

6.  We were spoiled in our old apartment, in terms of storage - there were shelves and closets everywhere.  Now, there’s no room to put a lot of our stuff.  However, PSB has a plan, and I think it’s a good one.  We have asked our friend Jon to build us a bunch of shelves, half to hold bins of files/Burning Man stuff/whatever else, and half for books.

As for now, we’re making pretty good progress.  My new computer is on the truck - they’re going to deliver it today, while no one is home.  I will have to play hooky tomorrow, or leave early, or something.  We also bought a little laser printer for the occassional home print job.  Under $150 and it’s got WiFi!  Ain’t technology grand.

We’re off to Ikea on Saturday to buy me a new wardrobe, so I can actually hang my clothes like a normal person.  On Sunday, Jon is going to come over and assess all the shelf building he’s volunteered to do.

I had my first “neighbor” sighting on the L train last night - my friend Matt, who lives a few stops away.  He told me he’s got extra wood that he wants to get rid of - once Jon checks out the job, I’ll get him in touch with Matt.  Everybody likes free stuff!

Tonight is a Moth Mailing at the office - if you’ve got some spare time, head on over there. . . I have to go pick up laundry, and if I’m lucky, be home in time to get my computer. . .

And, if I don’t have enough crap going on, I bought Patapon for the PSP, and it is just fantastic.  And the new God of War for PSP just came out, too.  I can’t bring myself to get it until I’m done with Patapon.
